It happened, it was brutal, let’s move on! Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins want to keep that whole “I love you” debacle in the past. During the engaged couple’s joint Good Morning America appearance on Tuesday, March 15, the Bachelor’s fiancée opened up about Higgins also saying those three words to runner-up JoJo Fletcher.
“I kind of during that portion — I thought that could be a possibility. So, I wasn’t shocked initially,” Bushnell, 25, said. “I think we made a commitment to move forward.”
As previously reported, Higgins, 26, actually told Bushnell how deep his feelings were for Fletcher — now the next Bachelorette — after he and Bushnell got engaged in Jamaica. Bushnell handled the news OK but admits that she didn’t watch too many episodes between Higgins and his exes.
“I think having to relive things that have happened … and to also have a million different opinions about it [was the most difficult]. But he laid everything out for me,” the flight attendant said on GMA. “I’ve seen bits and pieces … I’ve watched mostly just our parts because thats obviously so nice to relive. I don’t think it’s necessary to relive the other parts.”
Bushnell is looking to the future and is moving to Denver to live with Higgins in a couple of weeks. Now out of hiding, the couple is excited to begin a “normal life,” including public dinners and more. Either way, Higgins won’t be left with an empty stomach.
“Lauren makes amazing breakfast sandwiches … So, it’s really nice to wake up and have breakfast sandwiches in front of you,” he said of what he learned of Bushnell following the show.
Bushnell joked: “Ben is very much a morning person, and I’m not so much.”
