Cue the awwws! Bachelor Ben Higgins proposed again to his fiancée, Lauren Bushnell, during ABC’s After the Final Rose special on Monday, March 14.
“When I did this the first time, I had to call your dad on the phone. I didn’t get to do it the way I would have liked to. Your family is here. I’d like to bring them out,” Higgins told a surprised Bushnell before getting down on one knee again. “That day was a day that I meant every word I said … You have continued to support me and love me and keep me smiling in some of the weirdest and hardest situations,” he told his bride-to-be. “I meant it on that day… but will you marry me once again?”
The season 20 hunk, 26, popped the question to his 25-year-old bride during the March 14 finale. As previously reported by Us Weekly, Higgins proposed with a stunning $100,000 Neil Lane–designed diamond ring.
Their engagement comes after Higgins famously told both Bushnell and finalist JoJo Fletcher that he loved them. According to a source, watching her now-fiancé disclose his love for both of them was hard on Bushnell.
“Ben had told [Lauren] about [his I love yous], but seeing it is a lot harder than hearing it,” the insider previously told Us, adding that Bushnell was both “angry and sad.”
“Lauren, I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Higgins told Bushnell while proposing. “You’re my person.”
