Prince William Teases Newborn Son’s Name: ‘You’ll Find Out Soon Enough’

Over the moon! Prince William and Duchess Kate headed home from the hospital with their newborn son and the royal promised onlookers that the baby’s name will be revealed “soon.”

The couple welcomed their baby boy on Monday, April 23, and the royal pair left their private Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s hospital in London in the afternoon, with their son in hand. “We’re very happy. We’re delighted. Thank you,” the prince told the press, adding, “We’re thrice worried now.” The royal also teased the baby’s big name reveal saying, “You’ll find out soon enough. We didn’t keep you waiting too long.”

After Duchess Kate, 36, got in the backseat of the vehicle, the now father of three, 35, placed the baby’s car seat in the backseat with ease. He previously ran into a bit of trouble with a baby carriage in 2013 with his firstborn, Prince George, 4. William struggled for a bit while securing his son and the moment got some laughs from the crowd. When Princess Charlotte, 2, was born in May 2015, he placed her in the backseat like a seasoned pro.

Kensington Palace shared a photo of the moment the pair first stepped out to introduce the child to the world, tweeting: “Welcome to the family.” They also announced that Kate would leave the hospital with the baby and head back home on the same day. The baby’s birth was confirmed with a statement from the palace early Monday.

“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.,” the palace tweeted. “The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2011, first revealed that they were expecting their third child in September 2017.
