Zachary Quinto readily embraced the punk theme during his first-ever Met Gala appearance. Wearing a silk black vest and a white button-up shirt, the actor rocked a blue mohawk when he walked the red carpet outside the Museum of Art in New York City May 6.
The 35-year-old gave fans a sneak peek via Instagram hours earlier. "No rest for the weary," said the actor, who recently returned to New York City after promoting his summer blockbuster in London. "Preparations underway." Quinto's hair color comes courtesy of Street Style Beauty hairstylist Patricia Morales.
The actor unveiled the final results via Instagram. "Punk ass bitch," Quinto wrote in the caption. The Pittsburgh native wasn't the only celebrity attendee to rock a blue-colored coif: 24-year-old Lily Collins added cobalt streaks to her mane while walking the red carpet with boyfriend and Mortal Instruments: City of Bones costar Jamie Campbell Bower.
Quinto removed the blue dye from his hair the following morning when he appeared on NBC's Today. "This movie is a lot bigger and a lot bolder," he said of Star Trek Into Darkness, which hits theaters May 16. "I'm really excited for the movie to come out and finally let people see it so I don't have to keep a lid on it anymore."
