Looking on the bright side! In a rare occurrence, Victoria Beckham stepped out in a colorful outfit in New York City Wednesday, June 22.
While the Victoria Beckham designer, 42, occasionally dabbles in colors, she’s notorious for her uniform of all-black looks, from her shades to her stilettos. Some may think that monochrome outfits can be mundane, but Beckham has mastered the art of wearing one shade without being boring. The mom of Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 11, and Harper, 4, with husband David Beckham, left her hotel in a cherry-red crew-neck sweater paired with slim baby blue pants and finished with nude heels. Her freshly cut lob was styled in easy waves. And staying true to her aesthetic, she covered her eyes in a pair of black oversize sunglasses.
Beckham’s shocking summery ensemble follows another big change that the fashionista, who’s launching a makeup line with Estée Lauder this fall, announced. In a late February 2016 interview, the former Spice Girl vowed that she’d be staying away from sky-high shoes.
“I just can’t do heels anymore. At least not when I’m working,” she told The Telegraph. “I travel a lot. Clothes have to be simple and comfortable.”
Her relaxed state of mind was also reflected in her fall/winter 2016 collection. “She’s having fun, but not too much fun. She needs clothes for work as well as for evening,” Beckham continued. “I think people saw the real me when I came out [at the end of her Victoria Beckham show in New York] in a pair of men’s trousers, a roll-neck and trainers.”
