Bye, bye, blunt bob! Taylor Swift debuted a groovy new ’70s-inspired hairstyle at Liberty Ross‘ birthday party in L.A. on Saturday, September 24.
The newly single superstar, 26, chopped her locks inches shorter, getting rid of the straight-lined Anna Wintour–esque style she wore throughout the summer. Her new ‘do still features bangs, but now includes the piecey layers of a shag crop.
“Fun time with this one @taylorswift ❤️❤️❤️,” celebrity hairstylist Gareth Bromell captioned an Instagram video slideshow of himself and Swift at Ross’ party.
The Irish-born stylist, who also works with Michelle Williams, followed up with another angle that really showed off the different lengths in the “Wildest Dreams” singer’s cut. “Since you all love @taylorswift new little shag with beautiful color by @traceycunningham1 💁🏼❤️ here another look,” he wrote, calling out Swift’s celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham.
Other attendees of Ross’ bash, held at the Malibu home she shares with husband Jimmy Iovine, included Tom Ford, Mary J. Blige and Gwyneth Paltrow, who hit the dance floor with the “Shake It Off” singer. “Gwyneth Paltrow was dancing with Taylor Swift and hanging out with her a lot,” a source tells Us Weekly of the celebration. “They seemed like good friends. Taylor was in an amazing mood and very social.”
The onlooker added, “Taylor was also busting moves with Mary J. on the dance floor for a while.”
