The future is now! Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel announced that his company, the newly minted Snap Inc., is moving beyond the app and into other ventures — including “Spectacles,” tricked-out sunglasses that allow you to record videos without your phone.

“Snap Inc. is a camera company,” the company released in a statement. “We believe that reinventing the camera represents our greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Our products empower people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world and have fun together.”

That’s where the Spectacle comes in. The frames, which boast video technology, will be available in a one-size-fits-all cut and three colors (black, teal and coral) this fall. The camera uses a 115-degree-angle lens — wider than your typical smartphone — to record your Memories, which you can then send straight to Snapchat. (Memories is a new Snapchat feature that allows you to save your favorites Stores and Snaps.)

And you can do all this without ever picking up your phone, which, as Spiegel, 26, told the Wall Street Journal, can be “like a wall in front of your face” when you’re trying to capture (and share) the moment.

Spiegel’s fiancée, Miranda Kerr, for one, approves. The Aussie supermodel shared a black-and-white snap of her love wearing the frames via her Instagram account with the sweet note, “So proud of my love ❤️😎❤️ #spectacles #snap.”

Spectacles will drop in limited release in the upcoming months and retail for $129.99.
