The mom to Valentina, 8, who she shares with husband François-Henri Pinault, wowed in a Saint Laurent tiger-print slip dress for the red carpet. The silky black and brown number featured a flattering crossover bust and was topped with a feminine ruffle. She paired it with gold single-strap sandals and a simple necklace shaped like the sun. The actress also styled her brunette locks with loose waves and a center part, and swiped on a touch of plum lipstick.
On the red carpet, Hayek, 49, talked to Us Weekly about Farnez, her character in the drama based on the eponymous 2007 novel. “In times of crisis and severe human trauma, it is usually the women who quietly fight to keep the family together, and for them to not lose hope and their own humanity,” she told Us. “I was very honored that I got the opportunity to play a woman that shares a lot of the same qualities that we all share around the world.”
Hayek recently opened up about another universal quality unique to women: motherhood. “I had a child late in life. I always wanted to have a lot of children, and I was not able to,” she said in Red magazine’s July issue. “My body, as a miracle, had one. The huge blessing I’ve had is that my husband has three other children [François Jr., Mathilde and Augustin James]. So I have four. And they are all so different.”
