And the director wore white! Natalie Portman looked radiant in an embellished dress at the premiere of her directorial debut, A Tale of Love and Darkness, in NYC on Monday, August 15. Watch today’s Red Carpet Daily, presented by AT&T, to get all the details on her gorgeous ensemble!
Portman’s Dior tea-length frock featured beaded straps and a slight V-neckline. She paired the cream number with a single earring and gold stilettos (both by Dior as well) for even more pizzazz.
On the carpet, Us Weekly caught up with the Miss Dior brand ambassador, 35, who gushed about her first time in the director’s chair, to adapt author Amos Oz‘s autobiographical book. “I had always known I wanted to direct, but of course it had to be something incredibly personal and passionate for me,” she told Us. “Then when I read the book and I could visualize the film, immediately I knew that that was what I wanted to do.”
But it wasn’t all that easy. “You have to make 1,000 decisions a day as a director, and I found when I started I wasn’t always good at saying what I wanted,” she explained to Us. “By the end, of course, I was like, ‘I want that, that and that.’ If you say things in a kind and respectful way, everyone on your team wants [it too].”
Stay tuned to get even more details on Portman’s red carpet style, as well as her prim and proper look from a Good Morning America appearance earlier that day.
