The bulls-eye is botched!
When Missoni for Target, the store's latest designer collaboration, completely sold out at its New York City pop-up store in less than two days, fans knew that the 400-piece collection including apparel, accessories, and housewares would be in high demand once it hit stores and Target.com September 13.
But now that the day is here, shoppers seeking the highly coveted merch are getting a red screen and an error message upon logging onto Target.com — most likely a result of the overwhelming demand from eager Missoni fans nationwide and across the globe.
A Target rep tells Us Weekly: "Due to an overwhelming amount of traffic to Target.com as a result of the Missoni launch Tuesday morning, guests are unable to access the site. Providing a positive shopping experience to our guests is important to us and we are working to get the site back up as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience."
The incredible response comes as no surprise, since Emma Roberts, Camilla Belle and Rachel Zoe were among several A-list stars who hit the sneak preview on September 7 to nab some of the Italian brand's colorful zig-zig designs for a bargain.
Even Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson were drooling over the limited-edition pieces.
"I dreamt about the Missoni 4 Target bike last night…wonder if that was a premonition 🙂 Maybe @cash_warren is going to get it 4 me?!?" Alba tweeted on September 7. "We could ride 2gether after our men buy 'em for us 😉 @JessicaSimpson –right @cash_warren?"
"Oh hi, I am getting the not-so-subtle hint @jessicaalba @JessicaSimpson…now just need to see where they are available," Alba's hubby Cash Warren responded.
