Michelle Obama looks absolutely stunning in a sleeveless blue Reed Krakoff dress (that came straight from her closet!) on the April cover of Vogue. How cool is it that she shopped her own closet for a major magazine cover?

The First Lady and President Barack Obama sat down with the magazine shortly after the inauguration at the end of January. She was photographed in the White House by Annie Leibovitz.

The timing of her cover couldn't be better. Michelle Obama has championed many young designers during her time in Washington (we all know how much she loves Jason Wu!), and she's just begun her second term in the White House. It will be interesting to see which fashion houses she works with in the years ahead.

She told Vogue about her fashion philosophy: “I always say that women should wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves. That’s what I always try to do…. I also believe that if you’re comfortable in your clothes it’s easy to connect with people and make them feel comfortable as well. In every interaction that I have with people, I always want to show them my most authentic self.”
