Celebs just can’t stop blushing!
In case you haven’t heard, pink is the hair color du jour in Hollywood, and there’s a whole lineup of pastel-coiffed celebs—including recent converts Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne—out and about to prove it!
Let’s start with Robbie. The Suicide Squad actress, 25, was spotted rocking a pearly pink ‘do while jamming out in the VIP section at the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal on Sunday, Aug. 2. She was working black strands the day before, so this may just be a wig, but it’s an unforgettable style nonetheless.
The day before, Robbie’s Suicide Squad costar Delevingne was strolling around the festival grounds wearing her own rosy hairstyle. (Could be a wig, too, but look how well it complements the joie de vivre of her pineapple top!)
Of course, while these ladies may not have fully committed to going pink, that doesn’t mean others weren’t willing. In June, Kelly Ripa unveiled bubblegum-colored tresses via her colorist Ryan Trygstad‘s Instagram page (just in time for vacation, she said.)
And going as bold and bright as you can go, Jenny McCarthy visited Us Weekly in July with what she called “Hot Bitch Pink” hair, because as she put it, “You know, if no one’s going to hire me to play [a femme fetale], I might as well just be one!”
To rock pink hair like a celeb (wig or not!), Jason Backe, colorist and a co-owner of the Ted Gibson salon, says it’s all about finding the right shade for your skin tone. For fair-skinned ladies, he notes, “pastel baby pinks are great, while a vibrant magenta pops against a darker skin tone.” He added, “Right now, everyone is asking for pink and lavender. Even my most conservative clients like to see a touch of lavender in their highlights!”
But the true trick to going pink without looking like a cartoon character is maintenance. “L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Color AOX Shampoo and Conditioner are the products I recommend,” Backe tells Us. “They’re both filled with antioxidants to help keep the color bright and your hair shiny.”
