Winning! Lily Collins rocked the red carpet — and our world! — with monochromatic ruby-hued makeup at the 2016 Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday, November 6, where she was quite aptly awarded the New Hollywood Award by her Rules Don’t Apply director, Warren Beatty. Definitely not for wallflowers (also, see below: her majorly cutout gown by David Koma), the super dramatic update on Old Hollywood glam made a bold statement that is giving us some serious holiday soiree inspo!

The Lancôme Ambassadress’ makeup artist Molly R. Stern tells Stylish the look was “all about giving a modern nod to an extremely classic look.” To that end, she skipped basic browns and layered two red eyeshadows for depth: the brand’s Color Design Eyeshadow in Fashion Label was topped with the subtly shimmering Ruby Velvet, feathered on from lash lines to above the crease. She then groomed Collins’ thick arches with a brunette brow gel.
To keep the bold vibe consistent, Stern created the perfect plummy pout by lining and filling in the entire lip with a burgundy-brown lipliner and then added a pop of sheer blackberry in the center.
