Whoever said blondes have more fun clearly hasn’t been on a red carpet lately! Emma Stone, Jessica Alba and more celebs are proving that a rich brown shade is anything but dull. Watch beauty blogger Blair Fowler discuss the power of brunette ambition in the video above!
Stone, 27, stormed onto the scene in 2007 with her signature red, then went platinum-blonde while filming The Amazing Spider-Man series. But Oscar-nominated actress tried a chestnut brunette for the first time this spring, debuting the style at the Met Gala in May. “This shade is mind-blowing,” Fowler says. “Everything just pops with this color.” She also notes that Stone’s choice to go minimal with the makeup was smart, as “hair like this is your best accessory.”

And then, of course, there’s Alba, 35, a true brunette chameleon who has experimented with nearly every chocolate shade under the sun. Though she started her career off with blonde highlights, the mom of Haven, 4, and Honor, 8, started going darker in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since. At the premiere of Seoul Searching in June, the Sin City alum rocked one of her deepest shades to date — and looked all the more sultry for it!
