Here we go again! Kate Middleton attended London’s EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) gala Wednesday, June 22, wearing a dress that she sported almost exactly five years ago to the day.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 34, and her husband, Prince William, put on their black tie attire for the event that benefits the Nook Appeal, a fund to build a new hospice in Norfolk, England. Middleton dazzled in a Jenny Packham gown embellished with pearlescent rose sequins and Swarovski crystals. The gown features mesh insets at the shoulders and neckline, and boasts sheer, fluttering sleeves. The dress, from the spring 2011 collection, originally retailed for $5,015. Middleton accessorized with pale pink L.K. Bennett Agata bow sandals and a rose-colored clutch, along with a sparkling diamond bracelet. Instead of her signature blowout, she wore her long brunette hair in an elegant low bun.
Middleton’s glamorous gown is more than just a fashion statement — it has sentimental value. On June 9, 2011, she wore the piece for her very first royal engagement after she tied the knot with Prince William. The royals hit the 10th annual ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) gala at Kensington Palace, where she styled her gown with the same shoes and clutch. But instead of wearing her hair up, Middleton let her locks hang loose.
Of course, Duchess Kate is notorious for recycling her royal wardrobe. Most recently, she wore her bespoke Robinson Pelham diamond teardrop earrings on Monday, June 13 (just nine days ago!). She first debuted them on her wedding day, in April 2011.
