The girl just wants to have fun! Christina Aguilera shared her new hair color in a Friday, September 23, Instagram post. The Tracks producer, 35, swapped her fiery red locks for a brassy platinum blonde hue.
“Blondes really do have more fun 💋,” the mom of Max, 8, and Summer Rain, 2, wrote. Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton swept her shoulder-length locks to the side, softly curling the ends for a vintage-inspired feel. Makeup artist Etienne Ortega added more glam with extralong faux lashes, a pearly eyeshadow and glittery red lips inspired by Pat McGrath’s brand-new Lust 004 lip kits.
In June, the “Blank Page” singer threw it back to her 2006 video for “Candyman” by coloring her blonde hair red. Die-hard fans should remember the film short, in which Aguilera channeled luminaries from the 1940s like the Andrews Sisters, Judy Garland and Rita Hayworth. Appleton, who also works with Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry, also gave Aguilera multiple blonde looks for the 10th season of The Voice, including an updo adorned with cherry blossoms and an angled chin-length bob. And on May 9, he tricked the world when he styled his client with a purple wig that featured a braid pierced with hoop embellishments.
“I love being a chameleon when it comes to fashion and beauty,” Aguilera told Marie Claire in a May interview. “People take that stuff way too seriously, and it's really fun to play with looks.”
