White’s alright! The old adage that you can’t wear white after Labor Day has been kicked to the curb this year, and to prove the antiquated maxim doesn’t apply to our 2015 fashion sensibilities, celebs are coming out in droves wearing all-white without a seasonal care.
Not only are Amal Alamuddin, Reese Witherspoon, and even more stars breaking the rule, they’re giving Us a lesson into how to rock the neutral all year long.
Alamuddin, 37, was seen in a matching white-on-white outfit while out to lunch with her husband, George Clooney, in L.A. on Thursday, Oct. 22. The British barrister’s light pleated look featured buttons down the back, and was the perfect canvas for her brightly colored blue and green handbag. She finished her look with strappy nude heels and Salvatore Ferragamo sunglasses.
Kendall Jenner took the rule-breaking look in a casual direction when she knotted a white tee into a crop top and paired it with a matching pencil skirt for her half-sister Kim Kardashian‘s birthday party on Oct. 21.
Witherspoon, 39, rocked a two-piece Draper James ensemble in pure white with floral appliqués. She paired the outfit with perfect-for-fall marsala sandals, a textured gold box clutch, and floral earrings at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show and Tea on Monday, Oct. 20.
Wearing white is no big thing for Julianne Hough, who became engaged to fiancé Brooks Laich in August. Sporting a dress perfect for a bridal shower or bachelorette party, the Dancing With the Stars judge, 27, showed off her fit physique in a sleek cutout ensemble that she accessorized with a gold Emm Kuo clutch and matching ankle strap Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.
Rachel Zoe proved that a bohemian sheath dress is always appropriate in cream tones at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Oct. 17. She made her frock fall-appropriate with pops of merlot in her statement necklace and nails.
In another autumn-appropos concept, Selena Gomez wore white on white in a crew-neck sweater and trumpet skirt set, both by Michael Kors, while promoting her latest album, Revival, in NYC on Oct. 15.
Adding a bit of ruffled flair to a her Carol photocall in London on Oct. 14, Rooney Mara wore a feminine frock in the colorless hue by Giambattista Valli with pointed black wedges for contrast.

Attending an industry screening of her controversial movie Truth, Cate Blanchett gleamed in an asymmetrical white getup by Proenza Schouler. She accessorized the shoulder-baring frock with matching black crisscross heels.
Proving that simple can be ultra glam, Elizabeth Olsen rocked this short-sleeved Calvin Klein collection gown with a cutout back. She let the minimalist dress shine, opting to accessorize only with statement-making gold leaf-motif Joan Hornig earrings.
