1. Dryer Sheet + Brush = Frizz-Free Hair

“My favorite hair hack is to get rid of frizz and flyaways!” she tells Us Weekly. “I love to push a dryer sheet onto a paddle brush and run it through my hair. It tames the frizz and also refreshes my hair and makes it smell great.”

2. Drench Your Hair Before Washing It

“I swear by getting your hair as wet as possible before applying shampoo. Since shampoo is trying to strip the dirt and oils out of your hair, it can also be a bit drying,” she explains. “Making sure you have the extra water barrier can make a big difference.”

3. Remove Excess Water Before Conditioning

“It’s the opposite [process from shampoo] with conditioner. Wring your hair out to get as much excess water out before applying [it],” she says. “Your hair is going to want to suck up as much moisture as possible in this state, so applying conditioner to damp hair instead of soaking wet hair will leave you with silkier, more hydrated [tresses].”

4. This Bathroom Staple Helps Revive Mascara

“Most products are easy to touch up — a little more blush, eyeliner and gloss are simple — but mascara gets clumpy and messy,” Fowler notes. “All you need to do is take a tiny bit of petroleum jelly between your fingers and stroke your lashes. This will reactivate the mascara, and adding a second coat is supereasy.”

5. Lighten Your Hair for the Summer With This Drugstore Buy

“I’m currently using the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter Shampoo and Conditioner to give my hair a sun-kissed look. I saw results right away, but they weren’t superdramatic,” she tells Us. “That’s what I love about the product, you can’t mess it up, and the results are subtle and buildable.”
