Little Women

Network: BBC One, PBS Masterpiece

BBC adapted a miniseries of Little Women based on the 1868 two-volume novel by Louisa May Alcott.

The series follows the March sisters — Meg (Willa Fitzgerald), Jo (Maya Hawke), Beth (Annes Elwy) and Amy (Kathryn Newton) — growing up during the American Civil War while their father, Robert (Dylan Baker), is off at battle. Their mother, Marmee (Emily Watson), tries to manage the household while her husband is gone. Other characters include next door neighbor Theodore “Laurie” Laurence (Jonah Hauer-King), Laurie’s tutor John Brooke (Julian Morris), Robert’s widowed aunt Josephine March (Angela Lansbury) and Laurie’s grandfather James Laurence (Michael Gambon).

The three one-hour episodes premiered on BBC One in 2017 and were released on PBS as part of its Masterpiece anthology.
