Abbott Elementary was created by Quinta Brunson and premiered on ABC in 2021. The sitcom follows elementary school teacher Janine Teagues (Brunson) and her colleagues who work at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia. Despite facing setbacks, Janine is determined to help her students thrive.

Fellow Abbott Elementary staffers include substitute teacher Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), Principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James), second-grade teacher Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter), history teacher Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti), custodian Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) and kindergarten teacher Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph).

The acclaimed series has earned a Golden Globe Award and three Emmy Awards. Both Brunson and Williams won individual Golden Globe Awards for their performances in the series. Season 3 is set to premiere February 2024.
