Sorry, rubber ducky yellow rain boots! Those squeaky and rigid rubber and plastic boots may finally get the boot. There is high-quality footwear out there that will keep us comfortable and cute, even in the rain, and these boots are setting an amazing example.
The Ugg Tulane Boot doesn’t look like a traditional rain boot. It has more of the military-inspired, edgy-chic vibe we’d expect from Dr. Martens, but it’s from Ugg! A waterproof, leather Ugg that has shoppers wondering where these boots have been their entire lives. Maybe it’s a good thing we’re only discovering them now, though, because right now is when they happen to be on sale!

Multiple shoppers commented on how these boots felt comfortable “right out of the box.” They loved how there was no painful or tight transition period required to break them in. One even said the heel height, which is 1.5 inches, is “great for all-day walking.” Priority-wise, we can proudly admit that the visual factor is important to Us while shopping, so we were also glad to see the word “cute” mentioned over and over again in the glowing reviews!
Along with the waterproof leather, these boots have a waxed canvas upper, so they feel softer than hard rubber would, but still allow us to walk straight through puddles instead of attempting to jump over them. They’ll keep our socks and toes dry for all-day comfort, even in the snow!
These shoes are also constructed with a durable seam-sealing technique to keep the outside out and the inside in. We’ll definitely want to keep the inside in, because the moisture-wicking twill and wool linings are so incredibly comfortable. There’s also a 10mm wool-lined, foam-cushioned footbed! Even in the rain, we’ll feel like we’re walking on a white, fluffy cloud on a warm spring day.
Back on the outside is the lace-up closure, which makes its way up the boot’s ankle-high silhouette. Toward the top is a wraparound ankle strap for extra support, as well as extra style points. This strap has a buckle closure so we can adjust it to fit as snugly or as loosely as we want.
Don’t worry about having to undo and redo the laces every single time we want to put our shoes on or take them off! There is a side zipper on the inside of our foot, making slipping our shoes off and on a quick and easy task.
On the bottom of this shoe is a non-marking Spider Rubber outsole. This rubber is designed to provide high friction to keep us sturdy on our feet in wet conditions, or in dry! Mud, sleet and rain-slicked sidewalks are no issue in these boots. Spider Rubber is also made to be extremely durable, so these boots will be keeping us safe and chic for a long time.
These Tulane boots are currently available in two colors. Black is a lightly two-toned black, with the leather and canvas varying ever so slightly to show off their textures. The shoelace eyelets and strap buckle are silver-toned for a little added shine. On the back of the heel is a subtle, all-black Ugg logo patch. We can wear these black boots with pretty much anything, but our first choice is going to be jeans or maybe some faux-leather leggings!
Coconut Shell is a brown boot. The leather is a dark chocolate color, while the canvas is more of a milk chocolate. Mix them together and we’ve got some delectable footwear! Unlike the black version, these Coconut Shell boots have copper-toned hardware to better match the brown of the upper. We would wear this version with khaki pants or anything seafoam, light pink, ivory or black! Don’t set the limit there, though. These boots are very versatile and can work in a variety of different ways!
