If you ask Us, there’s no better way to kick off a new year than to party in style. As much as we loved 2018 and the many sartorial blessings it bestowed upon our closets, we can’t wait to ring in 2019 with a glass of champagne in hand, a kiss and most certainly with a sparkly dress.
Whatever our plans for New Year’s Eve — a swanky club, a rooftop bash or even an intimate get-together with friends and family — we know we need the perfect outfit to greet midnight in style. New Year’s Eve just wouldn’t be the same without all our closest friends, sparklers, dancing on tables and plenty of champagne. This calls for an outfit that’s decidedly chic, just a little risqué and most importantly, can turn heads (in a good way). This little number by Leith is designed to shimmer while we shimmy. It’s not too tight, so we won’t feel uncomfortable late in the night, but it still shows a generous amount of skin so it won’t look out of place at a nightclub.

For fans of parties, but not sequins
As strongly as we believe that there is no better occasion to deck ourselves out in sequins than New Year’s Eve, we also totally get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. If we had to choose an outfit sans the sparkly bits, we’d beeline for this cheeky off-the-shoulder number from one of our favorite brands for party dresses, Reformation. It’s certainly a “bombshell” dress — the décolletage is out in full force and the figure-hugging fit will ensure that not only will we have a kiss at midnight, but it’s a kiss neither we nor our partner will be likely to ever forget.

For those that just want something they can re-wear dozens of times
Sure, an in-your-face sequin dress is kind of our go-to look for the big night. However, the one drawback of getting a glitzy dress is that it can’t exactly be re-worn aside from very few occasions throughout the year — think birthdays, big parties and next year’s big New Year’s Eve bash. This Eliza J jumpsuit is the perfect amount of festive with a glittery bodice, yet toned down enough to work for virtually any other fancy get-together. It can even be worn under a blazer for a work shindig or when we’re hanging out with our partner’s parents.

The perfect skirt for champagne toasts at a friend’s place
Headed to a friend’s apartment or a rooftop party for the ball drop? Throw on a festive skirt with a fuzzy knit and heels for a perfectly casual (but not too casual) outfit. This pretty Halogen paillette skirt comes in two equally chic colors — black and the purple shade on the model — and we personally can’t wait to wear it with either a graphic tee and slip-on sneakers for a casual vibe. We may even try it out with a sweatshirt and strappy heels for a decidedly chic, relaxed vibe that screams “party mode” without being over-the-top.

Not up to going hard on New Year’s Eve? We get it! Bring the party home with a pair of super festive accessories or better yet, with a pair of sequin joggers! These sparkly pants are designed to ensure we’re still festive and party-ready, but still super comfortable should our idea of a great night include delicious bites from our favorite late-night eatery.
