The 42-year-old actress shares the abode with her husband, Jason Goldberg, and their four children – daughters Poet, 13, and Jagger, 11, and sons Lyric, 5, and Story, 2, – and can’t get enough of the free-flowing nature of the home. “I love the open ceilings, and the open air. I love a rustic vibe and a place that feels homey,” she told Us. “You can hear roosters in the morning and there’s goats around here and horses.”

She added: “It’s so great to be able to give our kids a little bit of that still so close to the city, but a little world away.”

Since the former child star, who recently partnered with Nutrisystem, loves to bake and cook with her little ones, she’s particularly fond of the kitchen. In fact, that’s where she took Us to share a “fun” recipe for Snickerdoodle energy balls. “These are healthy treats that everybody can love,” she explained.

The simple and “fantastic” recipe is a favorite of the mom of four and her kids. “It only takes five ingredients,” she boasted. “It’s easy, it’s fun, it’s great for the whole family.”

Furthermore, the dish, which features a combination of rolled oats, pitted dates, water, vanilla extract and cinnamon, requires no time in the oven. To make the energy balls, all you need to do is blend the ingredients together in a food processor and shape them by hand. Then, place the balls on a plate and put them in the refrigerator so they can set.

Frye also loves that the recipe is adaptable, meaning you can add ingredients such as cranberries and cashews “to make it your own special invention.”
