Snoop Dogg on Why His ‘Potluck Dinner Party’ Costar Martha Stewart Won’t Get High With Him: ’She’s Scared’

Unlikely pals! Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have two seasons of their cooking show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, under their belt (the show’s third season, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge, premieres on Wednesday, April 3), and while they love cooking together, there’s still one thing Stewart, 77, refuses to do with her costar – get high.

Though Stewart has joked about toking up with the “Gin and Juice” rapper in the past, the 47-year-old musician exclusively tells Us Weekly he and the lifestyle maven won’t be smoking together anytime soon. “She won’t [get high with me],” Snoop dished.

Added the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia founder: “I won’t … I joke about it, but so far no, no, no.”

Though Stewart didn’t elaborate on exactly why she refuses to get stoned with her costar, Snoop offered up his own theory. “She’s scared,” he explained. “But she gets me drunk every chance she gets!”

In addition to sharing a drink (or two) together, the pair also opened up to Us about the idea of releasing a joint cookbook in the future. Stewart has authored more than a dozen cooking and lifestyle books, and even though Snoop considers himself “a baby in the cookbook world” and admits he’s not on Stewart’s “level,” he released his own food-centric tome, From Crook to Cook, in 2018.

“I wrote the forward, and I think it’s actually a really good book,” Stewart said of the work, which features recipes for dishes such as Billionaire’s Bacon and Bow Wow Brownies and Ice Cream. “Snoop has to read it again because he forgets what he’s put in it.”

Continued the Martha Bakes star: “I think a compilation book would be very good for both of us.”

One recipe that won’t be in the pair’s (currently hypothetical) cookbook, however, is just about anything having to do with lobster. “I won’t touch a lobster,” Snoop told Us. According to Stewart, snails and caviar are also off limits for the Grammy nominee, though Snoop revealed his cooking and eating habits are slowly evolving, thanks to the Martha alum.

“I’m such a virgin to this, Martha’s breaking me in,” he explained. “She’s taking her time, and she’s really molding me into the chef that I want to be.”

This season on Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge, which puts a competitive twist on the original program, the pair will have a chance to impart some wisdom on dueling duos such as Matthew McConaughey and Method Man and Tiffany Haddish and Meghan Trainor. Each twosome will compete against one another to create the “best” version of a given dish.

“I’m looking forward to people enjoying learning our new recipes, and just seeing our camaraderie, and our relationship, unfold on screen,” Snoop said of the new season. “This show is not just about us, it’s about the people that we bring together. How could you be mad, or have hate in your heart after watching this show?”

Tune into Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1 on Wednesday, April 3, at 10 p.m. ET.
