Introducing the OG Mutant! The first trailer for the highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse was released on Friday, Dec. 11, and it features some of your favorite Mutants in a battle against the original one, who has the power to control them and destroy the world.
It all starts with a young Jean Grey (played for the first time by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner) having a horrific vision.
“I saw the end of the world,” she tells Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). “I could feel all this death.”
He’s not convinced, but as more evidence comes to light about secret societies worshipping an “ancient being,” Xavier realizes that the first Mutant is coming back to power.
“You are all my children and you’re lost because you follow blind leaders,” the creepy baddie says in a voiceover. “But I am here now. I’m here for you.”
Cut to Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and more trying to escape from their creator, whose name is Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac).
