It's officially game on for American Idol's season 10!
The Top 12 male contestants hit the stage for the first time Tuesday, and while some faltered, there were a handful of guys that really stood out to Us.
Among them? Milwaukee singer Scotty McCreery, who belted out John Michael Montgomery's "Letters From Home" and earned raves from the judges. "You're born to sing country music," judge Jennifer Lopez told McCreery.
Steven Tyler deemed Jacob Lusk's appearance on the Idol stage "divine intervention" and Lopez drew a comparison between Lusk and the late Luther Vandross after Lusk's syrupy rendition of "A House is Not a Home." "This is what's so exciting about this show. [Luther]'s gone, but now we have you," she said.
Tyler was so taken by James Durbin's version of Judas Priest's "You've Got Another Thing Comin'," that the judge dropped the F-bomb. "That was f–king crazy good!" he enthused.
And when Casey Abrams hit the stage, the rocker continued to dole out high praise. "You are in your mind good and out of your mind unreal," Tyler said. Abrams — who was reportedly taken to the hospital for abdominal pain last week — seemed in top form as he sang "I Put a Spell on You."
