Congratulations to the wickedly talented Adele Dazeem! Idina Menzel, whose name was famously butchered by John Travolta at the Oscars in March, was nominated for a Tony award on Tuesday, April 29.
The Frozen actress, already a Tony winner, was amongst the announced nominees for the theater awards, which will be held on June 8. Menzel, 42, is up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her work in If/Then, pitting her against Mary Bridget Davies for A Night With Janis Joplin, Sutton Foster for Violet, Jessie Mueller for Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, and Kelli O'Hara for The Bridges of Madison County.
Also up for a major honor was How I Met Your Mother alum Neil Patrick Harris. The actor, 40, was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He will be competing against Ramin Karimloo for Les Miserables, Andy Karl for Rocky, Jefferson Mays for A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, and Bryce Pinkham for A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder.
