The Royals Premiere Drinking Game Rules: Celebrate Like a Member of the Monarchy!

Alexandra Park

Want to party like a member of the monarchy? E!’s first scripted series, The Royals, premieres Sunday, March 15, and Us Weekly has the perfect game to help celebrate. The show’s cast members all shared their suggestions for an official Royals Drinking Game, plus Us Weekly has a few rules to add. But viewer beware — these British elite have learned to handle their gin and tonics like pros, so you could be suffering from a royal headache tomorrow if you follow too closely.

William Mosley, who plays the sexy Prince Liam, thinks the best course of action would be to take a drink “every time somebody swears or says something inappropriate,” noting, “everyone would be absolutely hammered in the first five minutes!” The next in line to the throne advises viewers use tequila, which he says is “always a good time.”

Devious body guard Jasper (played by Tom Austen) has a more salacious rule: “Drink every time someone takes their clothes off and you’ll be drunk pretty quick,” he recommends.

The Royals premieres on Sunday, March 15 at 10 p.m. ET on E!

Evil Uncle Cyrus (played by Jake Maskall) has a rule that’s sure to make you ill before the first scene is over: “You have to drink every time there’s an ‘R’ in a word — anarchy, monarchy.”

Us Weekly has a few more suggestions to wet your whistle:

1. Drink every time someone is reminded of their station in life.
2. Drink when Elizabeth Hurley says any euphemism for female anatomy.
3. Drink every time someone says the word “royal.”

Too many rules to keep track of? Alexandra Park, who plays wild child Princess Eleanor, suggests an alternative: “Just drink in general. Have a drink no matter what.”

Disclaimer: If you actually drink alcohol for all of these things you might also need to have an ambulance on standby because you’ll likely be more hammered than Princess Penelope in the throne room by the time you’re halfway through the episode. So just be safe and responsible and switch to water whenever Elizabeth Hurley starts spinning.

Cheers!

The Royals premieres Sunday, March 15 at 10 p.m. ET on E!
