Not who he seems? ABC’s upcoming political drama The Family centers on a mayor’s youngest son resurfacing more than 10 years after his abduction, although the joy surrounding his return may prove to be short-lived.
The promo above shows Claire Warren’s (Joan Allen) tearful reunion with Adam (Liam James), although other scenes pose questions over whether the person claiming to be Adam is, in fact, who he says he is. Indeed, the final scene in the promo suggests that Claire is about to get quite a shock.
“Secrets will be revealed,” Allen says in a behind-the-scenes interview in the promo. Zach Gilford (who plays Claire’s older son, Danny) adds about the ongoing mystery surrounding Adam, “Is it actually him, or is it sort of like an impostor?”
Alison Pill, Andrew McCarthy and Rupert Graves also star in the series from Jenna Bans, who has written for Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal.

The Family airs a special premiere on ABC on Thursday, March 3, at 9 p.m. EST. It moves to its regular time slot on Sunday, March 6, at 9 p.m. EST.
