Ah, the classic blindfold-trust exercise — what better way to learn imperative communication skills with your significant other? Indeed, Bachelor in Paradise alums Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper are put to the test on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars’ Friday, November 4, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The We TV relationship series’ preview clip shows Roper attempting to give driving directions through an obstacle course to her husband. The catch? He won’t be able to see, and she’s not the best at articulating directions.
“I’m going to be blindfolded, aren’t I?” Tolbert asks Dr. Venus Nicolino after stepping onto the golf-cart obstacle course. “How did you know?” replies Nicolino, who is clearly holding a blindfold in her hands. “Lucky guess,” Tolbert responds sarcastically.
Tolbert adds to the camera, “I don’t think Jade communicates very well. So taking directions from her — I can’t say I’m thrilled.”
Roper clearly struggles with the exercise, and at times she tries to express herself by nonverbally pointing in the direction her husband should head.
“She’s pointing like you can see her,” Nicolino laments while watching from a distance. “Talk, Jade — talk! Give directions, give directions.”
Finally, the couple make it out of the course in one piece, but not without enduring plenty of collisions along the way. A previously released clip from the episode showed Tolbert criticizing his wife for not standing up for herself.
