Sutton Foster is just as excited for the Gilmore Girls reboot as you are — and she’s in it! The Younger actress spoke to Entertainment Weekly recently and revealed a bit of what fans can expect from Netflix’s upcoming revival — along with who her character interacts with.
“The first time I walked . . . into Stars Hollow was crazy — beyond,” said Foster, 41, who pointed out that she was a big fan of the series’ initial seven-season run that ended in May 2007. Netflix is bringing the series back for four 90-minute episodes, each one centered on a different season of the year.
Foster, who worked with Gilmore Girls executive producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino on their series Bunheads, did not reveal much about her character, although she mentioned that she was on set during the spring and fall episodes.
“I got to interact with Babette — Sally Struthers — and Miss Patty,” the two-time Tony Award-winning actress continued. “And Sophie — Carole King — she was there. And Taylor. And some surprises that I can’t talk about.”
Foster also revealed that she actually shed tears on set after she finished shooting a scene with Lauren Graham (Lorelai), who she refers to as “amazing.”
“I was really nervous, and then when it was over, when we got it, I just sort of burst into tears,” Foster said of the scene. “There’s so much anticipation and so much admiration.”
Netflix has not yet announced a launch date for the reboot.
