Pretty Little Liars may be coming to an end. According to creator I. Marlene King, the long-running ABC Family show will end after season 7.
During a recent interview with Variety, King said that the story, as far as she knows it, will end following the upcoming season. (PLL’s season 6B premieres January 12.)
The second half of season 6 kicks off with a five-year time jump, placing Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson’s characters in the future. “I think that this story when we’re back will end next year at the end of season 7,” King told Variety when asked about the time jump.
Variety then asked: “So you definitely want it to end at the end of season 7, and don’t want it to go beyond that?” To which King replied: “Correct.”
In August, fans finally learned who A is — Vanessa Ray’s character CeCe Drake, who turned out to actually be Alison’s older brother, Charles, who transitioned into Charlotte, and later went by the name CeCe.
Despite Kings’ statement — and fans’ tears everywhere — ABC Family has yet to confirm the decision, but at least the show will forever leave Us confused!
