Amazing Grace!
She plays an oversexed, bleached-blonde woman in love with a killer in The Paperboy, but Nicole Kidman is pulling yet another 180 in her latest flick — playing the late Princess Grace (a.k.a. Grace Kelly) of Monaco in a biopic of the late royal and former film star.
The 45-year-old Oscar winner was photographed in costume for the first time on Tuesday, shooting in Menton, France — wearing a pale yellow coat, pearls, and a retro, ladylike hairdo for Grace of Monaco, set in the early 1960s. See more photos of Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly.
Directed by Olivier Dahn, Grace of Monaco costars Tim Roth as Prince Rainier III, and is set for a 2014 release, and specifically centers on the former Hollywood star's involvement with Monaco's dispute with France's Charles de Gaulle over tax laws.
In real life, Kidman has had powerful men at her side too: First husband Tom Cruise, and Keith Urban, her spouse since 2006.
The actress and mother of four told Harper's Bazaar she prefers "a bigger, stronger personality; that's what I've been drawn to. I need protection. Everyone wants to feel someone's got their back."
