One leg at a time! Susan Farmer tries on a pair of jeans for the first time in over two decades in My 600-lb. Life‘s Wednesday, April 20, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.

The TLC series’ preview clip catches up with Farmer, 39, as she recovers from surgery to the remove excess skin that had prevented her from wearing anything other than pants with an elastic waistband. Farmer, who once weighed 607 pounds, has dropped almost 400 pounds since undergoing gastric bypass surgery, now weighing in at 210.

“It seems silly, but I just want to wear a pair of jeans, just like any normal person,” she tells the camera. “I haven’t worn jeans since I was in high school. … It may just be a pair of jeans, but it represents a whole new life for me.”
