No one is going to make Miley stop! With the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards right around the corner, the pastie-wearing, tongue-loving pop star Miley Cyrus is gearing up to host the highly anticipated annual event.
And it looks like fans can expect a no-holds-barred version of the former Disney Channel alum, 22, when she hits the stage on Sunday, Aug. 30.
“We’re giving her pretty [much] free rein,” executive producer Garrett English told Entertainment Weekly. “Obviously there are standards and various other things that were always a part of it, but no, [no rules]… It never comes from a place of trying to limit the range, it’s always coming from a place of trying to open up the full palate.”
Back in 2013, Cyrus’ raunchy performance of “We Can’t Stop” and “Blurred Lines” that featured a latex two-piece ensemble, sexual use of a foam finger, and lots of grinding on a then-married Robin Thicke, was slammed by many for its adult nature. So those who might take offense had better steer clear of MTV on Sunday.
“Miley has been fantastic,” English said. “It was sort of a logical extension of conversations that were happening. Both her camp and ours were immediately excited by it.”
