Have mercy! Aunt Becky really had baby fever on Fuller House — but does that mean she’s ready for more? Lori Loughlin teased what’s next for her character in season 2 with Us Weekly on Tuesday, March 22.
“I think that ship has sailed!” Loughlin, 51, said with a laugh about Aunt Becky adding to her brood. “I don’t know what the writers have in store for us, we’ll see — something good, I hope. But it’ll just be fun to be back with the gang and working with everyone again, so I’ll do a few episodes.”
She added: “I’m happy. I’m thankful for all of the work that is coming my way, and I feel lucky.”
Loughlin reunited with her on-screen husband John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) on Netflix’s nostalgia-filled revival, which debuted last month. Aunt Becky often went gaga over D.J. Tanner’s (Candace Cameron Bure) kids because the couple’s twin sons Nicky and Alex, of course, were already past their awkward adolescent stage.
“It was fun to see them,” Loughlin said of actors Dylan and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit. “I haven’t seen them since they were babies, so that was kind of a thrill to see them all grown up.”
Loughlin guest-starred on a couple of season 1 episodes with Stamos. And (spoiler alert!) they renewed their vows. Loughlin told Us that she loved when the TV couple got married during Full House, which aired in 1991. “And the birth of their twins,” she said. “Two of my favorite [episodes].”
The actress didn’t keep the wedding dress, though. In fact, she doesn’t have any memorabilia from the original series. “I’ve lost all of that, but my mother seems to have one of everything, which makes me laugh,” she said. “I go to her house, and I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s a Full House bathrobe! There’s a Full House baseball hat!’ She seems to have it all.”
Loughlin is keeping herself busy until next season. She’s currently starring in Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart and has partnered with Emergen-C for the #40Pounds Challenge, which raises awareness for the millions of women and young girls who don’t have clean water. To contribute is easy: Snap a photo of yourself holding something that is 40 pounds, share on Twitter or Instagram and tag #Emergency. With each post, $5 will go to Charity: Water to build wells in Ethiopia.
