A regular life in unusual circumstances. Larry Birkhead discusses his efforts to provide a down-to-earth upbringing for Dannielynn Birkhead, his daughter with the late Anna Nicole Smith, in the Tuesday, July 12, episode of the Steve Harvey Show.
The syndicated chat show’s preview clip features the host asking Larry, 43, to reveal what Dannielynn, 9, knows about her mom. Smith (née Vickie Lynn Hogan) gave birth to their daughter on September 7, 2006, and died five months later of a drug overdose at age 39. The reality TV personality and Playboy model’s son, Daniel, passed away from an accidental overdose at age 20 three days after Dannielynn’s birth.
“She knows that her mom was famous and that people want to know about her,” Larry tells Harvey, 59, of Dannielynn. “So it’s different for my daughter because it’s nothing for her to go past and see a story in the checkout stands on the cover of magazines of her mom or herself or us or whatever. And it’s a little different than your normal situation, but I make it as normal as I can.”
The episode also includes Larry taking cameras on a tour of their Louisville, Kentucky, home for a sense of the pair’s daily routine.
“Things could have turned out a lot different, and I think in a sad tale, this is kind of the happiest ending that you could have,” the Millionaire Matchmaker alum continues.
