There's money to be made in the movies.
In their March issue, Vanity Fair estimates the 2010 earnings of Hollywood's 40 most powerful players (not including television or endorsement deals).
James Cameron, 56, topped the chart taking in a cool $257 million, the majority of which came from blue blockbuster Avatar, which he wrote, produced and directed.
Johnny Depp, 47, took the No. 2 spot, raking in an even $100 million for Alice and Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Tourist. Leonardo DiCaprio, 36, came in sixth with a none-too-shabby $62 million for Shutter Island and Inception.
Also cracking the top 15, the Twilight trio–Taylor Lautner (No. 9; $33.5 million), Kristen Stewart (#13; $28.5 million) and Robert Pattinson (No. 15; $27.5 million).
In fact Stewart, 20, ranked the highest earning woman, beating out leading ladies Jennifer Aniston (No. 18; $24.5 million), Angelina Jolie (No. 21; $21.5 million — partner Brad Pitt didn't even crack the top 40!), and Sandra Bullock (No. 22; $22 million).
Others box office champs included funny man Adam Sandler (No. 7; $50 million), Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. (No. 10; $31.5 million), and Willow Smith's old man Will Smith (No. 11; $29 million).
