These moms can handle some raunch! Bad Moms costars Christina Applegate, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn and Annie Mumolo talked with Us Weekly Video all about filming their bawdy comedy and how they bonded on set.
“It was like a stupid love fest, because we were a bunch of cool women working together to make a movie about motherhood,” Bell, 36, told Us of the R-rated laughfest, which hits theaters Friday, July 29.
Applegate, who plays judgmental Type A PTA president Gwendolyn, praised Hangover writer-directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore for a job well done: “I love that two dudes wrote a movie so true to form of what it’s like to be a mom in this day and age, the tensions between different moms.”
Hahn, who plays sexy single mom Carla, jumped on that point, telling Us Weekly Video, “The writers and directors of this wrote six dream roles for any actresses. Any of these roles was so delicious.”
Although Mila Kunis told Hahn she broke character the most, the Transparent alum didn’t think that was correct. Most of the women admitted to giving in to fits of laughter while filming, but how could they not?
“You always wonder if everyone will get along, because we’re always given these stereotypes, like, ‘Maybe a lot of women together could be a cat fight,’” said House of Lies star Bell. “[But] that’s all baloney. We worked with six of the coolest women I’ve ever met and walked away with some genuine friends.”
