She ain't the one John Mayer saw coming, but Katy Perry sure is the love of his life.

The surprisingly resilient couple duet on "Who You Love," a track Perry co-wrote with Mayer for his Paradise Valley LP — and the couple smolders together on the cover artwork, which debuted on Monday, Dec. 2. The black-and-white image, which was shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti, features a lingerie-clad Perry, 29, lounging on a velvet couch as she stares seductively into the camera lens; her hand, meanwhile, affectionately rests on Mayer's shoulder as he pensively strums his guitar.

Mayer, 36, who first posted the shot on Instagram, also wrote, "Proud of this song, proud of this artwork, proud of this girl." He also shared the cover shot via tumblr and revealed to fans, "And yes, we look like this at home pretty much all the time." Four additional images of the couple, captured by Sorrenti — whom Mayer praised as "great" — are available on Vanity Fair's website.

Mayer will complete the U.S. leg of his tour on Dec. 17 at the Barclays Center in New York; and will then head to Australia for more shows next April. His gal pal, in the meantime, will be joined by Icona Pop to kick off her Prismatic World Tour in the UK in May.

Also potentially in the works for the pair: A proposal! "Everyone knows it's just a question of when John will propose," a source told Us Weekly after the "Paper Doll" singer took Perry as his date to his brother's wedding on Oct. 13.

Although the two have experienced their share of break ups and make ups during the course of their 16-month relationship, Mayer hinted to the Associated Press back in August that he was ready to settle down with his pop star girlfriend: "I remember handing a camera off to one of the guys in the studio, like, 'We need a picture of us at the board so when we get old and gray there's a picture of us looking cool making music in L.A,'" he recalled.
