Here’s proof that John Legend could sing anything and make it sound incredibly romantic.
The Grammy-winning crooner took on the song that Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice wrote for wife Teresa on Wednesday, December 7, and it sounded pretty awesome. Watch it in the video above!
Teresa, 44, teased the song that Joe, 44, wrote for their 17th wedding anniversary during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live back in October and revealed that her husband wanted Legend to sing it. So when the “All of Me” singer appeared on the Bravo talk show on Wednesday, host Andy Cohen made that crazy dream come true.
“The last time Teresa Giudice was here, I asked her how her husband, Joe, was doing in prison, and she revealed that he had written lyrics to a love song to her that he dreamed of one day having John Legend perform,” Cohen explained as Chrissy Teigen‘s husband put his hands to his head.
Cohen then handed the words to the song and a keyboard to the Oscar winner.
“Why are you doing this to me?” Legend, 37, said with a laugh before launching into the song.
“’Cause I’ll love you forever,” he sang. “I’ll never lie, no never. ’Cause you are my baby, my empress, my lady. Teresa, you are my-y-y heaven.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, Joe began serving a 41-month prison sentence for fraud in March. Teresa returned home last December after serving an 11-month stint on similar charges.
