Jennifer Lopez knows what she thinks! And on the topic of Ben Affleck‘s massive new phoenix tattoo, the American Idol star is really, really clear!
As Us Weekly reported back in December, the dad-of-three showed off a huge, multicolored back tattoo while filming his new movie, Live by Night, in Los Angeles.
The artwork appears to be a phoenix rising from the flames, its wings spreading right out across his shoulder blades, a supposed symbol for rebirth, which is appropriate for Affleck in the wake of his separation from Jennifer Garner.
But while Garner herself was sympathetic toward her ex’s new expressive body art (“Bless his heart,” she responded recently, when asked about the tattoo during a revealing Vanity Fair interview), not all of Affleck’s exes are quite so gentle with their judgment!
“It’s awful!” Lopez, who dated Affleck between 2002 and 2004, told Andy Cohen and viewers during a Monday, February 29, appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “And I would tell him that. What are you doing?” she continued. “It has too many colors! His tattoos always have too many colors. They shouldn’t be so colorful, you know what I mean? They should be, like, cooler.”
Lopez’s appearance on WWHL was a straight-talking one. The 46-year-old singer also used her airtime to set the record straight about her reported feud with Mariah Carey.
Taking a moment to defend herself against the footage that emerged of her texting during Carey’s Billboard Music Awards performance last year, the Latino beauty insisted she was totally into the show.
“That was not fair, them with the texting thing, because I watched a lot of it — it was a long performance, OK!” she said of the embarrassing incident. “I may have looked down for one second, and people were like, ‘Look at her! Look at her!’ It’s so not fair, so not fair. I was watching her the whole time.”
