That’s one way to tell him! Will Smith recently received his fifth Golden Globe nomination, for his role as the real-life Dr. Bennet Omalu in the film Concussion. And while he’s very appreciative of the honor, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum, 47, wasn’t a huge fan of how he found out.
In Us Weekly’s Loose Talk video, Smith described the experience to Jimmy Fallon, saying, “I felt, like, a slap on my ass and Jada [Pinkett Smith] said, ‘You got nominated for a Golden Globe!'”
The actor’s overeager wife gave him the forceful announcement before he’d had the chance to find out for himself.
“So I was like, yeah, that’s a strange way to learn,” he quipped.
