Welcome back, McKinley High students! Ryan Murphy revealed via Twitter on Tuesday, Dec. 3, that the entire original cast of Glee has been invited back to take part in quite the special episode. Whether all will be free to show up though, is still unknown!
"ALL The Glee Originals received invites today to be in our 100th episode!" the 48-year-old series creator wrote to his followers. "More to follow."
So, who's agreed to come back on? So far, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr. and new mom Heather Morris! The fate of Dianna Agron is still unknown.
"Amber is IN for episode 100! More to follow…" Murphy wrote shortly after the big surprise. "Mark is IN for the 100th! More great news coming…Harry is IN! More to follow…" He added: "Heather is IN for Glee 100th!"
The news may come as a surprise to Gleeks, as it was just two months ago that Agron (who played Quinn Fabray) was left out of the late Cory Monteith's tribute episode on Oct. 10. (Following the death of the Canadian actor at age 31 on July 13, the series wrote in a final farewell episode to honor the late actor — their quarterback. At the time, Agron was noticeably absent.)
"Bad news spreads faster than anything good," the 27-year-old Glee alum said of the rumors regarding her absence to the Irish Independent in November. "I think it's just such a shame, especially involving someone that we love so much, that the good old internet has taken everything that they want to say about it and spread it like wildfire."
She added: "I've nothing but love for that show and everybody involved in it. It was such a huge part of my life, so I think it's equally hard when I'm not there every day anymore."
The series — now in its fifth season — previously marked another milestone when they celebrated its 500th song last season. The cast passed the impressive number in the episode "Girls (and Boys) on Film," which premiered on March 7.
