It was the end of the road for American Idol hopefuls Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia on Thursday's elimination show.
Voted into the bottom three along with Paul McDonald, Adedapo, 26, and Megia, 16, offered Elton John covers that left much to be desired.
Still, Milwaukee mom Adedapo was proud of her reggae-tinged performance of "I'm Still Standing."
"That's who I am, that's part of my culture," she said after belting out a slowed-down version of John's 1983 hit. "I felt it and it was great for me. Hopefully it's great for America!"
While Megia's "Daniel" was solid, the judges — namely Randy Jackson — thought it too safe of a song choice.
Considering the record 55 million votes cast, McDonald's appearance in the bottom three was somewhat of a mystery, if you ask UsMagazine.com. His Wednesday rendition of "Rocket Man" was a dose of "quiet comfort," said Jackson, though we did agree with Jennifer Lopez that McDonald can — and should — do better next week.
