Let’s dance! David Hasselhoff popped in for American Idol’s ‘80s night — because where there’s an ‘80s theme, there’s The Hoff — on Wednesday, March 25.
The legendary Baywatch alum, 62, who began his music career in the late ‘80s, took to the stage to teach the young contestants a thing or two about his favorite decade.
“I don’t remember much about the ‘80s,” he said, chuckling and stripping off his jacket and tie. “What I do remember was the music was soul, was funk, was disco. We had the crazy hair, big hair, lots of hair, but the thing I can remember [most] about the ‘80s was it was fun!”
Hasselhoff then slipped into a leather jacket and aviator shades to sing an almost two-minute mash-up of his favorite tunes, including Rick Astley’s “Never Going to Give You Up,” Culture Club’s “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me,” and David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance.”
Judge Harry Connick Jr. stood and clapped throughout the entire medley, cheering and dancing along, while J.Lo boogied in her seat and Keith Urban looked a little confused.
