Danielle Milian is staying strong. On the season 2 finale of Christina Milian Turned Up, Danielle reflected on her late son, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak-peek clip.
Danielle, 29, and her husband, Richard, welcomed Richie in August, but he had been diagnosed in utero with omphalocele and died just hours after he was born.
The clip shows the couple picking up a copy of the Us Weekly issue in which she was interviewed about her son’s condition. Omphalocele is a rare birth defect where the organs develop outside the body, and it carries a high risk of mortality.
“It’s been a rough road, but in a strange way, it feels like it’s bringing Richard and I even closer together,” Danielle tells the camera about their struggles.
In June, Danielle told Us that she and Richard faced a tough decision concerning whether to have an abortion but ultimately decided to carry the child to term.
“No matter how long he has in this world, I could not imagine taking his chance away,” the still-pregnant Danielle said to Us at the time.
