He really went 4 it. Corey Feldman gave a truly bizarre performance of his latest single, “Go 4 It,” from his new decade-in-the-making album, Angelic 2 the Core, when he appeared on the Today show Friday September, 16. Watch the interesting moment in the clip above!
Billy Bush introduced Feldman, 45, to the stage by saying the former child star’s name is “synonymous” with classic ’80s films such as The Goonies and Stand by Me. While the TV host, 44, seemed genuinely excited to see Feldman, his expression grew from excited to nervous once he realized his guest was dressed in a Grim Reaper–inspired ensemble.
The actor-singer explained of his frightful aesthetic, “The whole theme of the album is good versus evil, heaven versus hell, that sort of thing.”
Feldman then went on to explain why there were four women standing behind him dressed in angel costumes.
“I know that angels have probably saved me once or twice in my life. And I like helping them as well. That’s why I created Corey’s Angels,” he said, referring to his heavenly entourage. “It was a way to help girls who were kind of lost and needed to find their way to get their opportunities, their dreams and make them realities. And that’s what we do.”
After telling Bush that his musical style is directly influenced by his “idol” and childhood friend, the late Michael Jackson — “It’s kind of a similar style of dance because we grew up dancing together!” — Feldman launched into his peculiar number. Aside from a brave attempt at doing the moonwalk, Feldman displayed some mind-boggling dance moves and belted out some even stranger vocals while singing “Go 4 It,” a Snoop Dogg–assisted EDM track. Unfortunately, Snoop, 44, couldn’t join Feldman, so rapper Doc Ice stepped in as a substitute.
