Talk about a patriot! Angie Harmon is the latest celeb to trace her family tree on TLC's Who Do You Think You Are?, and the Rizzoli & Isles star learns some surprising news about her family's role in the American Revolution.
In Us Weekly's exclusive clip of the episode, airing March 22 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC, Harmon discovers — thanks to her fifth-great-grandfather Michael Harmon's signed pay stub from the Continental Army — that her ancestor served directly under George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
In tracing her father's side of the family, Harmon learned that she descends from one of the members of the 4th Pennsylvania Regiment, the group that spent a fateful, brutal winter in Valley Forge, Penn., from 1777 to 1778.
"That's unbelievable," she exclaims when she learns just how close her ancestor was to the country's first president. "George Washington, he was with him! Oh, my father's gonna love this."
Find out more about Harmon's patriotic lineage when her episode of Who Do You Think You Are? airs Sunday, March 22 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
