Heading back to the ballroom! New mom Allison Holker is returning to Dancing With the Stars for season 23 after sitting the previous one out, a source confirms to Us Weekly exclusively.
Holker, 28, took a hiatus from the show during season 22, as she and husband Stephen “Twitch” Boss welcomed their first child, son Maddox Laurel, on March 27, 2016. The dancers tied the knot in December 2013 after first meeting as all-stars on So You Think You Can Dance season 7 in 2010.
Holker has three seasons under her belt as a dance pro on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. In season 19, she was paired with Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett, landing in ninth place. She and R5’s Riker Lynch were the season 20 runner-ups, while Holker and Andy Grammer took seventh place in season 21.
She spoke to Us Weekly at an event in May, where she revealed her regimen for regaining her incredible abs after her pregnancy. “I love working out. Since day two of being home from the hospital, we went hiking,” she said. “I started working with my yoga instructor every Tuesday at 9 a.m. in my backyard, and it’s wonderful. I meditate, and then I work out.”
Holker won’t be the only familiar face returning for season 23, as dance pro Gleb Savchenko will be back as well. Savchenko was paired with Lisa Vanderpump in season 16, and the duo were the second team eliminated during his lone season on the show.
Us exclusively revealed on Thursday, August 18, that Simone Biles is DWTS producers’ top Olympics 2016 pick to compete on the upcoming season. The gymnastics star, who collected a whopping five medals in Rio this month, told Us on August 14 that competing on the show would be “so cool,” as long as her busy schedule allows it.
The full list of season 23 participants will be announced on Good Morning America on Tuesday, August 30.
Dancing With the Stars season 23 premieres on ABC Monday, September 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
